Production Diary
Saturday 26th of March I created and photographed the creations for my website, this allowed me to give visual aid to users of the website on how the audience would be able to make the objects.
Tuesday 27th of March I created footer header and background on Adobe Photoshop CS5. I created the header to allow the audience of my website to clarify that the website they have accessed is Inspired, the footer was made to allow the user to see that the websites content is copyrighted and of the terms and conditions and terms of privacy.
Wednesday 30th of March I wrote the stages down how I made the objects step by step. The step by step document would be put with the visual aid images to allow the website user to gain a far greater understanding of how to create the objects. I made the background to allow the website seem less boring and also to get the point across that the website is all about recycling and nature.
Thursday 31th of March I set about improving the header and footer and made the foreground and navigation bar, I improved my header and footer because I didn’t feel that they were to a professional standard that a website should have. The foreground allowed my text and any other content to stand out much better than it would in comparison to what it would have looked like simply on the background itself. By creating I navigation bar it will allow the audience to navigate through the website quickly and easily.
Friday 1st of April wrote up content for where to go web page. Where to go’s content was created to allow the audience of the website access to the locations website but also to give the audience on ideas where they would be able to visit.
Saturday 2nd of April wrote up content for what to do web page. What to do’s content was created to allow the audience of the website to a quick and easy way to think of things that they would do if they got bored.
Monday 4th of April I used to edited the photographs to size so that they would be of a reasonable size to use on flash and be presented in a flash slideshow and attempt to put them into a slideshow on flash but flash crashed and I was unable to save the work that I had completed. Although I lost the work that I had done, I repeated the process to get the flash slideshows to work. I created the slideshow to allow the audience to watch as they made there creations, the slideshow would be accompanied by small thumbnails which would allow the audience to view one stage if they wished to do so.
Tuesday 5th of April went over my work on Photoshop CS5 and edited out the some floors of the header and navigation bar due to sizing and unrecognized fonts. After editing the two elements they looked much better and could be aligned on Dreamweaver properly.
Tuesday 26th of April I resized the photographs that I had taken to allow the website to look less bland I resized the images using Adobe Photoshop CS5. Once I had altered the image sizes I was able to add a stroke this allowed the images to stand out and look less of an eyesore. I also added text to the Where to go and What to do pages on a blank copy of the foreground on Adobe Photoshop CS5. I had to add the text in the original foreground image because Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 would not allow me to add a table on top of an image, this was due to layers causing websites problems with their layouts.
Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th of May I began the process of creating the slideshows of the creations I had made which would be put on the creations page this was done within Adobe Photoshop CS5, this was due to the fact that the original videos which were created could not be placed onto of the foreground gif. The slideshow animations were created to allow the audience access to see how the creations were made.
Friday 6th and Monday 9th of May the websites content was fully completed and cleared of any issues, this allowed to me to work on adding all the hot spot links to the website which allowed the audience to navigate form one page of the site to the other. The final task for the website was to create a form so that I would be able to do research on which people used my website for the demographic and also for the geo-demographic for the website.
I completed my website on the 9th of May and will test my website on more than one computer to make sure that the website will still work even if it is on another piece of hardware. Whilst undergoing the creation of my website I have learnt numerous skills within Adobe Dreamweaver CS5, skills that I have learnt include creating forms, making the website pages, linking images to other locations within the website and to other websites as well as using hot spots to link to other pages. Although I didn’t use any of the Adobe Flash CS5 slideshows I created due to technical difficulties I did still learn how to make a basic slideshow. Overall I am pleased with my websites outcome, this is due to the fact that all the content and links were complete and working within the website. Although I am pleased with my overall outcome of the website I could have made it much better by organising myself better and using my time much more effectively. When making my website I did encounter a few issues such as items for within the website not opening and Dreamweaver not opening at all as well as Dreamweaver by the end of the making of the website not showing the content, but apart from the issues everything else all went well to my knowledge.
Tuesday 10th of April I received written feedback from all member present within group, once I had received the feedback I know exactly what other members thought to my website and it also put me at ease and allowed me to see what I had done right and what I had done wrong. I also gave feedback to all members of the group I hope that the feedback I gave was helpful or reassuring. On the 9th I had my website also and beta testing which allowed me to see whether it worked by it being tested by another member of the group, this allowed me to know whether the website was suitable and ready for use.
Friday the 13th of May I started writing up my website evaluation which covered my views on how my website went and also how I felt about the completed product, I also had to write about and justify why I chose to do things the way that I did things and also if it was still appropriate for my target audience.
On the 16th I had to redo several pieces of written work as I had lost them this included the CSS and HTML question sheets, the W3C analysis and the CSS example website document.
