Diary
Before I could start making my website I had to go through a number of written documents and watch PowerPoint presentations. The first task that I did was to watch and listen to the web authoring PowerPoint presentation this allowed me to gain an understanding of how websites are created and formed using meta-tags and mark-up language. Once the PowerPoint was finished I had to do a worksheet about web authoring this involved questions which were related to the PowerPoint to allow me to answer and make sure that I had learnt what was important about the PowerPoint. The next stage was to watch a PowerPoint presentation on web accessibility this gave me a much better knowledge and understanding how the web can be accessed and what it can be accessed on as well as what the web allows its users to do.
Once I had moved on from web accessibility I had to make a blog, this allowed me to see how blogs are structured and what blogs allow their users to do. The blog was created to allow me to put my work online to be shared with others and also could be used as an online portfolio of my work. Following on from making my blog I was to make two mind maps the mind maps were based upon web authoring and accessibility, the reason for the two mind maps to be created was because it was a quick and simple way to write down important information which could then be looked at afterward to gain any forgotten information quickly and simply. The next stage was to Write out five initial ideas in a mind map format this allowed me to come up with five ideas of my own and to put my ideas onto paper, shortly after making the mind map of my ideas the group gave me feedback this was to allow me to find out which Ideas are the mostly popular and also which idea was least used and would be better to make a to gain a larger audience for the website.
Once I was given feedback I was to make a proposal sheet which contained how I would manage my time the idea for the website and other important information, the proposal could also develop the idea which I liked the most and which was most popular with the entire group. The next stage was to make the wireframes for my chosen website idea this allowed me to see what I wanted my website to look like initially and also allowed me to gain a basic idea to follow whilst making the actual website. Website design was the next stage this covered how website are design and what they are designed using this gave me a vast knowledge on how I should make my website in consideration to colour scheme, layout and so on. Once we had seen and learnt about what a website with few videos, images, navigation bars and so on we studied websites which contained plenty of media forms this allowed me to see that websites with more forms of media seemed to be much better but some with too many seemed uneasy on the eyes and made it hard to focus. Once we had seen and researched media rich websites I moved onto the fireworks tutorial this allowed me to gain a far greater knowledge of what could be done within fireworks as well as how it was done.
